Noord-Limburg (North Limburg)
If you are looking for beautiful, unspoilt nature, this is the place to be. This region contains De Grote Peel and De Maasduinen national parks, which are great for walking and cycling. The River Maas and the Maasplassen lakes offer abundant possibilities for sport and leisure. In Noord-Limburg, easy-going country living is combined with having delightful towns and cities with a rich history conveniently close by.

Midden-Limburg (Central Limburg)
Midden-Limburg bustles with activity. The famous towns and cities are steeped in history, but besides the numerous museums and monuments, they also have a wide variety of shops, restaurants and cafés. In Midden-Limburg, water sports and nature enthusiasts will be in their element. Welcoming small villages and castles are nestled on the banks of the Maasplassen lakes, and the rivers Swalm and Roer and amidst the seemingly endless woodland, which includes De Meinweg National Park.

Westelijke Mijnstreek (Western Mining Region)
Situated in the narrowest part of the Netherlands with Germany on one side and Belgium on the other, the Westelijke Mijnstreek is a gem waiting to be discovered. In this varied region, where the hills of South Limburg begin, there are plenty of things to explore ranging from historical cities and picturesque villages with breathtaking views of the banks of the River Maas to charming hamlets hidden between the farmland and hills.

Parkstad Limburg (Limburg Park City)
Tourist attractions such as Europe's largest indoor ski village and most modern zoo show how dynamically green Parkstad Limburg is developing. Parkstad is also home to unique museums and monuments that are a testament to the local mining history. With its green character, Parkstad also hosts numerous sports and cultural events, such as the Pinkpop open-air festival. Cities and villages in this region border on vast parks and scenic areas.

Mergelland (Marl Countryside)
South Limburg has beautiful rolling hills with lovely little villages and towns. The rivers Geul and Gulp meander through the woodland and meadow landscape. The region has countless castles, exceptional windmills and various religious buildings, including an age-old basilica. The marl quarries and caves in Valkenburg are typical of the region.
